Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to build a system for real-time tracking of money transfers for expats, according to press reports on February 11. Roshan Digital Account (RDA) account users would then be able to track and trace money transfers from abroad to Pakistan using this service.

Reportedly, in a meeting with Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, Advisor on Overseas Pakistanis Affairs Ayub Afridi, State Bank Governor Raza Baqir, and relevant senior officers from various ministries; PM said that facilitating overseas Pakistanis is the government’s responsibility. It was also reported that the government has received USD 3 billion in overseas remittances through RDA thus far. The premier directed relevant ministries to increase RDA advertising in other countries to persuade expatriates to use the service.

The gathering was also informed that the government had made initiatives to facilitate the voting rights of abroad Pakistanis, the automation of power of attorney, and the online issuance of the succession certificate.
